What can I say about today’s first race but ‘WOW‘!  What a great turnout!  The weather was good, and there was some great racing and close finishes. I would also like to thank everyone who helped out today.  Races wouldn’t be possible without the volunteer’s. A special thanks to the crew in the moto shed doing registration.  They were very busy getting everyone signed up and registered so that we could race. I want to also thank the parents and kids for their patience.  We were hoping to have the races start much sooner, but being the first race and the great turnout, it took us a little longer to get started. I hope we can have many more races with such a great turnout.

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to say great turn out yesterday and thanks to everyone for their patience as I got everyone through the registration process as fast as I could. We had beautiful weather, 97 riders and 26 motos.

A Race Series consisting of the 4 VIC races and 5 Island Provincial races

Rules and Regulations
1. Each team may enter only 1 sheet.
2. Each team may consist of no more than five (5) different riders – the fifth “optional” rider must be a girl.
3. Each team must submit a roster of riders of between 5 and 10 members.
4. You must designate the class you are using for each rider. (cruiser or class)
5. Any one rider may compete for only 1 team throughout the duration of the series.
6. Your team entry must be turned in before the moto sheets are posted. No refunds will be issued for failure to do so.
7. Points towards the team series are as follows:

ALL CLASSES
1st in main: 40 + 1 point for every rider in class
2nd in main 35 + 1 point for every rider in class
3rd in main 30 + 1 point for every rider in class
4th in main 25 + 1 point for every rider in class
5th in main 20 + 1 point for every rider in class
6th in main 15 + 1 point for every rider in class
7th in main 10 + 1 point for every rider in class
8th in main 5 + 1 point for every rider in class
Any rider not qualifying for the main will receive zero (0) points.

9. Each team’s best 5 scores combined will determine the winners.
10. Ties will be broken in the following manner to determine a winner:
The team sheet with the most 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. place main event or overall (total point) finishes.
The team sheet with the largest overall rider count score. (Only counting the 4 best qualifying scores on each sheet).
*If the tie is still unbroken, a determination will be based on which riders qualified earliest:
Qualified 1st moto 1 point
Qualified 2nd moto 2 points
Qualified 3rd moto 3 points

*Lowest points is the winner of the tie. Total point races will be calculated by a rider’s finish in the motos.

*If a tie still exists, a coin toss will determine a winner.

Entry Fees: $10.00 per sheet with all funds to be used towards awards for the top 3 teams.

1st Place Team will receive custom number plates and a hoody
2nd Place Team will receive a hoody
3rd Place Team will receive a t-shirt

All remaining monies to be distributed as restaurant gift certificates, award distribution to be as follows:
1st place is awarded 50%
2nd place is awarded 33%
3rd place is awarded 17%

3 parents have volunteered to open the track this Friday evening April 27th
from 6-8:00pm for gate practice.

Hello riders & parents our racing season is ready to begin with our first official gate practice scheduled for this Tuesday April 24th from 5:30-7:30. Moto shed will be open for registration. All new members will receive their first practice or race FREE! Everyone welcome! All you need is bike, helmet, pants, and a long sleeve shirt. The concession will be open with drinks and treats! Also the BBQ will be on with your choice of cheese burger or hot dog! See you all at the track! CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

Our first race is on Sunday May 6th with registration from 2-2:30. For our first race we will be handing out Victoria BMX T-Shirts to all riders participating in our first race of the year! We will also be having a swap n shop so we are asking everyone to please bring your own tables and all your BMX items for sale, bikes, helmets, pants, jersey, etc. The concession will be open with lots of cold drinks and treats, also the BBQ will be on with some yummy burgers and hot dogs! Everyone welcome! All you need is a bike, pants, helmet, and long sleave shirt. All new members will receive their first practice or race FREE! Come check it out! Under uncertain skies Victoria BMX held their first work party today! Thank you to the volunteers who came out to help prep the track for the 2012 race season. The track is looking to be in good condition with one more work party and some good weather we should be ready for riding. Next work party is scheduled for next Sunday March 25^th from 12-4pm weather pending. For those attending the next work party you may bring your bike and gear cause if the track looks good we may be able to set the gate up for some gate practice when we are finished working.
